Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the second one-day international in Mohali.

Both teams went into the match with one change each, dropping their left-arm spinners, because the pitch was not expected to turn and grip much. India strengthened their batting by bringing back Virender Sehwag in place of Murali Kartik. However, he didn't say at what position Sehwag would be deployed.

India would hope to score more than 300 as dew was expected to play a major part during the second half of the match. With Kartik missing from the bowling attack, Indian part-timers will have to bowl ten overs and could be targeted by the Pakistan batsmen.

Pakistan, however, decided to go with a four-pronged pace attack as Shoail Tanvir replaced Abdur Rehman who went for 54 off ten overs in Guwahati. Pakistan have Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik to share the fifth bowler's quota.

Shoaib Akhtar will have fond memories of the PCA Stadium in Mohali, having picked up 2 for 18 the last time he played at this ground, and will hope to repeat his performance and help bring Pakistan level in the series.
